EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES AND OUTCOMES

B. Tech - PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEO's)

The Program aims to :

PEO1 : To develop knowledge of contemporary science and mechanical engineering related subjects for successful professional career both in industry and academics.
PEO2 : To impart effective communication, analytical and decision making skills to excel in the area of mechanical Engineering by correlating contemporary issues.

PEO3 : To practice engineering profession in a responsible, professional and ethical manner for the benefit of the industry and society.
PEO4 : To inculcate team spirit and lifelong learning attitude to achieve career and organizational goals.


B. Tech - PROGRAM OUTCOMES (PO's)

PO1: Engineering knowledge Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems. 
PO2: Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences. 
PO3: Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
PO4: Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions. 
PO5Modern tool usage:  Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
PO6: The engineer and society:  Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice. 
PO7: Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development. 
PO8: EthicsApply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.  
PO9: Individual and team work: .Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
PO10: CommunicationCommunicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
PO11: Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.
PO12: Life-long learningRecognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change


B. Tech - PROGRAM SPECIFIC OUTCOMES (PSO's)


PSO1 : Able to apply the knowledge of Mechanical Engineering for design and development such as selection of material, manufacturing processes and fabrication of components including analysis, testing and operation of the mechanical systems.
PSO2 : Able to apply advanced technology and software tools in research and development of new systems in the areas of Mechanical Engineering and allied fields.
PSO3 : Able to pursue a successful career in industries though managerial skills for manufacturing, thermal and other power generation, automation, operation and maintenance to acquire utmost quality and value added services to the society and nation.


M. Tech (Engineering Design) - PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEO's)

PEO1 :  To produce Post Graduate (PG) Engineers by developing their design capabilities to participate in innovative and integrative activities needed for modern design engineering, through learning contemporary technological skills.
PEO2 :  To make Post Graduate (PG) Engineers capable of contributing for research and development in the area of design and development of mechanical engineering systems.
PEO3 : To make post graduate (PG) engineers developlife skills for becoming design professionals, administrators & academicians and engage in lifelong learning to adopt socio-economic-technological developments of the nation.

M. Tech - (Engineering Design) - PROGRAM OUTCOMES (PO's)

PO1: An ability to independently carry out research /investigation and development work to solve practical problems.
PO2: An ability to write and present a substantial technical report/document.
PO3: Students should be able to demonstrate a degree of mastery over the area as per the specialization of the program. The mastery should be at a level higher than the requirements in the appropriate bachelor program.


M. Tech - (Engineering Design) - PROGRAM SPECIFIC OUTCOMES (PSO's)

PSO1 : Student should be able to apply design engineering principles and concepts with modern tools for lifelong learning committed to social responsibilities.
PSO2 : student should be able to apply the knowledge and skill of various approaches of innovative technologies and automation for solving complex engineering problems with ethical and professional Values.
